The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Miami Marlins 3-1 in 14 innings at Marlins Park on Sunday. The Marlins have fallen in 10 of their last 12 games.
Philadelphia(9-5) moved out to a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning. Cesar Hernandez smacked a solo home run to right field on a 0-2 count.
In the sixth inning, Miami(4-12) picked up their first hit of the contest. Brian Anderson knocked a solo homer over the left-center field wall on the first pitch.
The Phillies broke the tie during the 14th inning. Jean Segura connected with a two-run homer to left field with Andrew McCutchen on base.
