Marlins Pay Back Phillies

The Miami Marlins stopped a five-game losing streak with a 10-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday night at Marlins Park. The Phillies blasted the Marlins 9-1 in the previous game.
In the second inning, Miami(4-11) put up two runs. Austin Dean singled into center field for Miguel Rojas to score. Lewis Brinson followed with a double to left field which scored Dean.
The Marlins compiled four more runs in the bottom of the third for a 6-0 lead. They got back-to-back solo home runs by Brian Anderson and Neil Walker. After a Rojas base hit, Dean bashed a two-run homer to left-center field on the first pitch.
The Fish made it a seven-run gap in the fifth inning. Starlin Castro scored on a sacrifice fly by Rojas to center field.
Philadelphia(8-5) surrendered three more runs in the bottom of the seventh. Dean drove in Chad Wallach and Rojas with a triple to deep right field. Brinson then grounded out to third for Dean to cross the plate.
The Phillies broke the shutout during the ninth inning. Obubel Herrera knocked in Rhys Hoskins on a base hit to right. Nick Williams later slapped a double into left-center field to score Cesar Hernandez and Scott Kingery.
