The Miami Marlins were unable to hold a lead in the late innings and ended with a 2-1 defeat to the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park on Wednesday night. The Marlins have fallen in seven of their last eight games.
In the third inning, Miami(3-9) went out in front 1-0. Neil Walker belted his second home run of the season on a 1-2 pitch to right-center field.
Cincinnati(3-8) took the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. Jose Iglesias hit a solo homer to center field on a 2-1 count. Two batters later, Jesse Winker smashed a home run on a 0-1 pitch to left field. It was the second straight game that Winker had a homer.
