The Cincinnati Reds dominated the Miami Marlins 14-0 on Tuesday night at Great American Ball Park. The Marlins have lost six of their last seven games. It was just the second win for the Reds this season.
Cincinnati(2-8) got in front 1-0 in the first inning. Eugenio Suarez drove in Joey Votto with a single into center field. The Reds made it 2-0 during the bottom of the third on a Scott Schebler base hit to right which scored Matt Kemp.
They added two more runs in the fourth. Jesse Winker smacked his first home run of the season to left field on a 3-1 pitch. Tucker Barnhart scored in front of him on the play.
The Red Legs pull away in the bottom of the sixth inning as they compiled seven runs. Winker knocked in Jose Peraza and Barnhart with a single into right field.
Cincy was able to get back-to-back-to back home runs. Kemp homered to right field on a 1-1 count for his first home run in a Reds uniform. It was a three-run homer with Winker and Votto scoring. Suarez followed with a solo shot to left field on a 1-0 pitch and then Schebler hit a line drive over the left-field fence on a 1-0 count.
Miami(3-8) surrendered three more runs in the seventh. Barnhart doubled to right and Michael Lorenzen walked. Two batters later, Kyle Farmer blasted a three-run homer to left field on a 1-2 pitch for a 14-0 lead.
