The annual Wimbledon tennis tournament held in England was cancelled on Wednesday due to the coronavirus pandemic. The last time this grand-slam event had be not played was in 1945 because of World War II. The 134th Wimbledon Championships will now be held from June 28-July 11, 2021.
Several tennis players who reside in South Florida will be affected by this situation. They include the breakout player in the 2019 Wimbledon women's singles tournament Cori "Coco" Gauff of Delray Beach.
