The Miami Heat handled the Houston Rockets 101-94 on Thursday night at Toyota Center. It was the beginning of a seven-game road trip for the Heat, who extended their winning streak to a season-high four games.
Houston(11-14) had a 29-19 lead after one quarter and were ahead 53-47 at halftime. Miami(11-14) outscored the Rockets 28-10 during the third quarter and entered the final quarter up 75-63. Houston cut the deficit down to 97-94 with 50 seconds left.
Miami was led by Jimmy Butler as he compiled a triple-double of 27 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds. Max Strus came off the bench with 21 points while Kendrick Nunn scored 16 points. Bam Adebayo had a double-double of 10 points along with 13 rebounds and Duncan Robinson poured in 15 points.
John Wall and Eric Gordon both shared a team-high for Houston with 17 points each. Demarcus Cousins dropped in 16 points and Jae'sean Tate drained in 16 points.
