Panthers Defeat Red Wings

     The Florida Panthers edged the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 on Tuesday night at BB&T Center. The Panthers are now 10-1-1 in their last 12 contests against the Red Wings. It was the second game of a two-game set between both clubs. 
     Detroit(3-9-2) moved ahead 1-0 at the 3:31 mark of the first period. Dylan Larkin carried the puck through the high slot and passed to Filip Zadina in the low left circle. His wrist shot went by Sergei Bobrovsky for his first tally of the year. Larkin leads the Red Wings with a team-high 10 points. 
     Florida(7-1-2) tied it up 1-1 with 4:06 left in the first. Patric Hornqvist bounced a pass off the end wall to Jonathan Huberdeau on the left of the crease. He centered a backhand pass and Alex Wennberg one-timed a shot from the top of the crease past Thomas Greiss for his second straight game with a goal. Hubedeau compiled his 450th NHL point on the play. 
     In the second period, the Panthers got a 2-1 lead on a power-play goal. Huberdeau sent the puck from the top left circle to Aaron Ekblad on the right point. His slap shot was deflected in by Hornqvist in the crease area. Hornqvist tied Carter Verhaeghe with his club-high sixth goal this season while Huberdeau picked up his team-high 14th point of the campaign.
