The Miami Heat got by the New York Knicks 109-103 at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. Both teams will face each other on Tuesday night in Miami. The Heat now have a 6-2 record when playing on the day of the Super Bowl.
New York(11-14) begin the contest on a 13-4 spurt, however the Heat led 25-23 at the end of one quarter. The game stayed close during the second quarter as Miami(0-14) had a 60-59 lead at halftime.
Neither club could put some distance between them in the third quarter and the Knicks trailed 82-77 going into the fourth. The Heat went on a 15-9 run in the last five minutes of the contest to take the victory.
Miami was led by Bam Adebayo with 24 points along with 11 rebounds for a double-double. Jimmy Butler fell short of a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. Kendrick Nunn and Tyler Herro both dropped in 16 points each while Kelly Olynyk drained in 15 points.
Julius Randle had a double-double of 26 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists for New York. Reggie Bullock scored 21 points and Alec Burks had 13 points.
