The Florida Panthers have released their schedule for the upcoming 2012-13 season. They will only play teams in the Eastern Conference for a total of 48 regular season games. The Panthers will raise their first Southeast Division Championship banner to the rafters next Saturday on January 19 as they host the Carolina Hurricanes at the BB&T Center.
Looking at the divisional matchups, the Cats will meet the Washington Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes four times with two games at home and two games away. They will face their cross-state rivals the Tampa Bay Lightning with two games home and three games on the road. The Winnipeg Jets will make three appearances in Sunrise and will host the Panthers twice.
The Panthers will play the other ten teams in the Eastern Conference three times each. They will play all five Northeast Division teams two times at home and one time away. That will include the Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators. They will play all five Atlantic Division teams one time at home and two times away. That will include the New York Rangers, New York Islanders, New Jersey Devils, Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins.
