Jazz Breeze Through Heat

    The Miami Heat did not foresee an assault from the Utah Jazz as they lost 104-97 at Energy Solutions Arena on Monday night. The Heat dropped to 8-9 away this season and now are 1-3 on the current six-game road trip.
    Miami(24-12) began the game on a 16-8 edge six minutes into the first quarter. Utah finished the period on a 22-9 spurt to lead 30-25 after one quarter. The Jazz continued to roll as they scored 15 of the first 19 points of the second quarter to go up 45-29 at 7:18. The Heat were still behind at halftime 59-44.
    Utah(21-19) extended their margin to 20 points at 75-55 with 4:41 left in the third quarter and led 84-65 after three quarters. Miami closed the gap on a 16-4 run at the start of the fourth quarter and were just two points behind at 93-91 with 3:31 remaining. The Jazz scored the next five points on a 9-2 charge to put the game away.    
    LeBron James, who scored 11 points in the first quarter for the Heat, had 32 points and six assists in 44 minutes. Dwyane Wade sat out the entire fourth quarter, but added 11 points in 29 minutes. Chris Bosh knocked in 16 points in 27 minutes while Mario Chalmers pumped in 12 points and seven assists in 37 minutes.
    The Jazz were led by Al Jefferson who had a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds in 38 minutes. Paul Millsap contributed 17 points and nine rebounds in 33 minutes. Several Utah reserves had double-digit scoring as Gordon Hayward got 22 points in 27 minutes and DeMarre Carroll dropped in 12 points.
