The New York Jets have let go offensive coordinator Tony Sparano after just one season with the team. The Jets finished with a 6-10 record in 2012 and out of the NFL playoffs for the second straight season. The team had a dilemma throughout the entire season about the starting quarterback position between Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow.
Sparano was the head coach of the Miami Dolphins from 2008 until 2011. He had a record of 29-31 in four seasons with the team. Sparano shocked everyone in his first season as he turned around the Fins from 1-15 in 2007 to 11-5 and an AFC Eastern Division title. The 10-win difference was the biggest increase by a team in NFL history. With the exception of 2008, the Dolphins have not made the NFL playoffs since 2001.
