640 Fox Sports South Florida WMEN-AM and 850 WFTL-AM has been acquired by Alpha Media from ACM JCE IV B LLC headed by Mark Jorgenson. Alpha Media had a local management agreement to operate the radio stations since August 2015 when they took over for Digity Media and Palm Beach Broadcasting by purchasing their radio stations in the West Palm Beach market.
Jorgenson and his organization picked up 640 Sports in a bankruptcy court auction back in March 2015. It happened after James Crystal Enterprises declared chapter 11 bankruptcy in February 2014. James Crystal was the owner of the station when it flipped to a sports talk format in March 2008.
640 Sports currently has one local weekday show with Joe Raineri and Steve Zemach that have hosted morning drive since January 2016. It is the flagship station of Nova Southeastern University men's basketball along with being an affiliate of the Florida Panthers Radio Network and the New York Yankees Radio Network.
