The Miami Heat had a one-game road trip to Dallas and were defeated by the Mavericks 96-89 at American Airlines Center on Monday night. It was the first loss by the Heat since before the All-Star Game break. The club has won 17 of their last 20 games.
Miami(27-33) started off well as they got out to a 31-22 lead after one quarter. The margin disappeared as they were down 55-54 at halftime. Dallas(24-35) began to pull away from the Heat in the second half and led 78-69 after three quarters.
Goran Dragic drained 24 points while Hassan Whiteside contributed a double-double with 19 points and 19 rebounds. Seth Curry led the Mavericks with game-high 29 points.
