The Florida Panthers swept their five-game road trip as they defeated the St. Louis Blues in the final seconds 2-1 at Scottrade Center on Monday night. The Panthers have won eight of their last nine games.
Florida(28-20-10) jumped out to a 1-0 lead midway through the first period at 10:40. Jonathan Marchessault got his 17th goal of the season in the crease area with an assist from Nick Bjugstad behind the net after a turnover.
St. Louis(31-24-5) had to wait until 2:54 into the third period to tie the contest up 1-1. Kyle Brodziak put in the tally following shots in the crease by former Panther Scottie Upshall and Ryan Reaves.
The Panthers regained the lead with just five seconds left in regulation. Vincent Trocheck scored on a slapshot from the top of the zone past Jake Allen. Mark Pysyk made the pass from the left wing on the play.
