Huberdeau Returns As Panthers Top Ducks

Jonathan Huberdeau made his season debut and scored the game-winning goal as the Florida Panthers knocked off the Anaheim Ducks 2-1 on Friday night at BB&T Center. Aleksander Barkov also returned to the lineup and played his first game since December 27. The Panthers reached a three-game winning streak for the first time this season.
Anaheim(28-16-9) broke out to a 1-0 lead at 9:39 of the first period. Hampus Lindholm put in his fourth tally of the year with an assist from Antoine Vermette. It was the 18th point in 28 career games for Vermette against the Cats.
Florida(23-19-10) bounced back just 13 seconds later when Reilly Smith scored his 10th goal of the season. Jason Demers and Keith Yandle were credited with assists on the play.
The Panthers got the go-ahead goal to make it 2-1 with 4:58 left in the second period. Huberdeau was able to get his first goal of the 2016-17 campaign off a feed from Barkov.
