Wednesday was national signing day for high school football players in Palm Beach County. Many of them will have an impact in college football over the next couple of years.
Dwyer has been one of the top large school programs in the local area and have a large contingent who made commitments. Quarterback Toddy Centerio signed with Temple, running back Jakari Moses selected Western Kentucky, linebacker Raven Saunders chose North Carolina State, Cedrick Dort moves to Kentucky and linebacker Jamal Gates stays local at FIU.
Their cross-town rivals Palm Beach Gardens also had several high profile players. Linebacker VanDarius Cowan decided on Alabama, wide receiver Jerry Drake, Jr. shifts to Pittsburgh, quarterback Eli Mathews goes to Keiser and safety Amari Carter heads to Miami. Lake Worth defensive end Jonathan Garvin will join him with the Hurricanes.
Glades Central were represented by quarterback James Blackman who stays in the state and named Florida State while wide receiver Quantino Allen goes to Oregon State.
American Heritage had defensive back Jarques McClellion at Arkansas, running back Alec Sinkfield to West Virginia, linebacker Willie Hampton at Nebraska, defensive back Josh Turner to Iowa, defensive end Noah Curtis to FIU and offensive lineman Pierre Michel to Keiser.
Palm Beach Lakes wide receiver D.J. Edwards ends up at Purdue and Atlantic safety Marquis Waters finds Duke. Suncoast defensive end K'Jakyre Daley selected Oklahoma.
Oxbridge Academy had defensive tackle Tyler Williams go to Wake Forest, defensive back Traivon Leonard to Auburn, offensive lineman Robert Holmes to Connecticut and defensive lineman Simeon Phillips to Keiser.
