The American dropped the National 30-6 in the annual Palm Beach County High School All-Star Game on Saturday night. The game was held at Jupiter High School.
The National team moved ahead in the first quarter. Running back Kenel Beaubrun(Royal Palm Beach) rushed in up the middle from three yards away for a 6-0 lead.
The American squad answered back and tied it up at the end of the first quarter. Quarterback Kaimyn Castilla(Seminole Ridge) found wide receiver Gen'Taris Oliver(Palm Beach Central) in the back right corner of the end zone for an eight-yard touchdown.
They took their first lead 13-6 with 2:21 left in the second quarter. Darius McClendon(Forest Hill) intercepted the ball and returned it 45 yards for the score.
The Americans extended their margin on their next possession with 1:15 remaining in the first half. Oliver was able to make a 24-yard catch from Castilla for his second touchdown of the contest.
Oliver made his third touchdown catch of the game from 23 yards away on a Castilla toss during the fourth quarter for a 27-6 American lead. The Nationals next possession ended on the first play when Oliver picked the ball off. Tanner Nairn(Palm Beach Central) added a 35-yard field goal later in the fourth.
The Most Valuable Player awards went to Oliver and Kevon Purnell(Palm Beach Lakes) on offense while McClendon and Arkel Williams(Atlantic) received the honor on defense.
