Heat & Panthers Playing Postseason On Same Days

The Miami Heat and the Florida Panthers will be playing on the same day six out of seven times in their upcoming playoff series. The Miami Heat Eastern Conference Semifinal series against the Philadelphia 76ers and the Florida Panthers Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series versus the Washington Captials had no same-day conflicts in a 12-day stretch.
The Miami Heat will host the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Final and the Florida Panthers will host the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference Semifinal with Game 1 on May 17, Game 2 on May 19, Game 5 on May 25 and Game 7 on May 29. Both series will be on the same day for Game 4 on May 23 and Game 6 on May 27 when both South Florida teams are on the road.
The exception of both series not being on the same day is for Game 3. The Heat and Celtics play Game 3 in Boston on May 21 while the Panthers and Lightning play Game 3 at Tampa Bay on May 22.
The Heat and the Panthers play in separate venues in South Florida. The home of the Heat is FTX Arena in Miami while the home of the Panthers is FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, a distance of 41 miles between both buildings. Both clubs participated in at Miami Arena for their home contests from October 1993 until April 1998.
