Marlins Trade Isan Diaz To Giants

The Miami Marlins traded infielder Isan Diaz to the San Francisco Giants on Saturday. Miami will get back either cash considerations or a player to be named later.
Diaz was acquired by the Marlins from the Milwaukee in a five-player deal for Christian Yelich in January 2018. He got called up to the majors in 2019 and hit his first major league home run at Citi Field against the New York Mets.
He opted out of the 2020 regular season due to the team outbreak of COVID-19 at the start of the regular season in July. Diaz was involved in just seven games as the club reached the postseason for the first time since 2003.
Diaz spent four seasons with the Marlins. He compiled nine home runs, 41 runs batted in and a .185 batting average in 145 games. Diaz had a .193 batting average with four homers and 15 runs batted in during 89 contests last season.
