Lightning Sneak by Panthers In Game 2

Ross Colton scored with 3.8 seconds left in regulation time as the Tampa Bay Lightning slipped by the Florida Panthers 2-1 in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals at FLA Live Arena on Thursday night. The Lightning lead the best-of-seven series 2-0.
Game 3 will be played on Sunday afternoon in Tampa. The Panthers power play had gone 0-for-25 in eight postseason games this year.
Florida was held to one goal for the second straight game of the series and third playoff game in their last six contests. The Panthers have scored one goal or less six times during the 2021-22 campaign.
Tampa Bay took a 1-0 lead on the power play with 7:54 remaining in the first period. Steven Stamkos fired a wrist shot from the top left circle and it was redirected in by Corey Perry from the low slot past Sergei Bobrovsky for his second tally of the series and fourth goal of the postseason.
In the second period, Florida evened it up 1-1 with 1:53 remaining. Claude Giroux connected a cross-ice pass in the neutral zone. Gustav Forsling skated with the puck into the Lightning zone and made a drop pass at the left point. Eetu Luostarinen squeezed by a slap shot from the top left circle through Andrei Vasilevskiy for his first career goal in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Giroux chalked up his eighth postseason point on the play.
The Lightning regained the lead 2-1 with 3.8 seconds left in the third period to get the last-second victory. Ondrej Palat cycled the puck from the right point. Nikita Kucherov backhanded the puck from behind the Panthers cage and Colton snapped a shot from the left of the crease for his fifth goal of the playoffs. Colton did score the series-clinching goal for the Lightning in Game 5 when they won the Stanley Cup last year against the Montreal Canadiens.
