Rockies Leap By Marlins

The Miami Marlins were overtaken by the Colorado Rockies 7-1 at Coors Field on Monday. The Marlins continued their eight-game road trip. The Fish have lost three of their last four games.
Miami(19-27) produced their only run of the contest during the second inning. Jesus Sanchez crushed a 2-2 pitch into the right-field upper deck for his fifth home run of the season. It was the longest home run in Major League Baseball so far during the 2022 campaign.
Sanchez's 496-foot homer turned out to be the second longest home run in Coors Field history. The longest home run was hit by Giancarlo Stanton of the Marlins back on August 16, 2016. He hammered a 504-foot homer to left field.
Colorado (22-26) waited until late in the game to overtake the Marlins. The Rockies compiled four runs in the bottom of the seventh and three runs in the bottom of the eighth.
