Sony Michel Signs With Dolphins

Former local high school football player Sony Michel has signed a contract with the Miami Dolphins. It is a one-year deal worth $2.1 million.
Michel played high school with the American Heritage Patriots in Plantation. He helped the school win their first FHSAA Class 5A state football title in 2013. Michel later attended the University of Georgia and contributed to them reaching the CFP National Championship Game in 2017. They fell in overtime against the University of Alabama Crimson Tide in overtime.
He was drafted by the New England Patriots 31st overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. Michel was able to win Super Bowl LIII in his first season in the National Football League. He was traded to the Los Angeles Rams in August 2021. Michel picked up another championship in Super Bowl LVI with his new club back in February for his second Super Bowl title during his four-season NFL career.
