Joe Panik Retires

Second baseman Jon Panik has retired from Major League Baseball. He played eight seasons in the majors and helped the San Francisco Giants capture the 2014 World Series during his rookie year.
Panik spent the second half of last season with the Miami Marlins after being traded by the Toronto Blue Jays for Corey Dickerson in a four-player deal on June 29. He had one home run, seven runs batted in and a .172 batting average in 53 games.
