Blue Jays Rip By Marlins

The Toronto Blue Jays handled the Miami Marlins 6-3 at loanDepot park on Wednesday and took two contests of the three-game series. The Marlins host the Pittsburgh Pirates for the next four games beginning on Thursday night.
Toronto(41-35) rocketed out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the second. The Blue Jays hit back-to-back doubles as Cavan Biggio knocked in Matt Chapman with an extra-base hit to the right-field fence. Two batters later, Kevin Kiermaier singled up the middle to score Biggio.
Two batters later, George Springer chopped a single through the left side for Santiago Espinal and Kiermaier to cross the plate. Whit Merrifield followed with a base hit into center field and Springer reached home for a 5-0 lead.
Miami(42-33) cut the deficit to 5-2 in the bottom of the fourth. Garrett Cooper doubled to left field for Bryan De La Cruz and Jesus Sanchez to score.
The Marlins got another run in the seventh inning to make it 5-3. Garrett Hampson drove in Jonathan Davis with a single through the right side.
The Blue Jays extended it to 6-3 in the eighth inning. Chapman smacked a solo home run to left field on the first pitch for his 10th homer of the season.
