Marlins Breeze By Red Sox

The Miami Marlins eased by the Boston Red Sox 10-1 at Fenway Park on Tuesday night. The Marlins will visit the New England region once every two seasons for a series due to the new regular season schedule implemented by Major League Baseball.
The Marlins snapped a 10-game losing streak at Fenway Park. The last time they won a game in Boston was on June 18, 2009. Miami is now 6-20 all-time at Fenway Park since interleague play began in 1997. Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara hurled seven innings for the winning decision, his first win since May 24.
Miami(46-34) sprinted out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Bryan De La Cruz smacked a two-run homer to right-center field on a 1-2 pitch with Jorge Soler aboard. It was the ninth home run of the season for De La Cruz. Garrett Cooper later knocked in Jazz Chisholm Jr. on a base hit to right field.
Boston(40-40) answered back in the bottom of the first and trailed 3-1. Alex Verdugo doubled into the left-field corner which scored Justin Turner.
The Marlins added two more runs in the top of the fourth. Soler drove in Joey Wendle on a double off the top of the Green Monster. Two batters later, Chisholm singled up the middle and Luis Arraez crossed the plate. In the fifth inning, Jean Segura powered a solo home run to left-center field on a 1-2 count for his second homer of the year and gave them a 6-1 lead.
In the eighth inning, the Fish got four more runs for a nine-run margin. Arraez hit a double off the scoreboard on the left-field wall for Jacob Stallings to reach home. Three batters later, Chisholm singled into right field for Joey Wendle and Arraez to score. Chisholm eventually scored on a double by Cooper to center field.
