Marlins Overcome Pirates

The Miami Marlins came back on the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-4 at loanDepot park on Thursday night. Both clubs are playing each other in a rare four-game weekend series.
Miami(43-33) moved out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second. Joey Wendle hit a sacrifice fly to the warning track in center field to score Garrett Cooper.
Pittsburgh(34-40) leaped over the Fish in the fourth inning. Carlos Santana doubled into the right-center field gap and Connor Joe crossed the plate. Santana would steal third and reached home on a throwing error.
The Pirates extended it to 4-1 in the top of the eighth. Henry Davis blasted a 1-1 pitch over the left-center field wall for his first home run in the majors. He did it in his fourth game with the Bucs. Three batters later, Ke'Bryan Hayes lifted a solo home run down the left-field line on a 0-2 count for his fifth homer of the season.
The Marlins overcame the deficit with five runs in the bottom of the eighth and took 6-4 lead. Bryan De La Cruz singled up the middle for Jonathan Davis and Luis Arraez to score. Two batters later, Cooper capped the frame with a three-run homer to right-center field on the first pitch with Jorge Soler and Bryan De La Cruz aboard. Cooper chalked up his ninth home run of the year.
