Marlins Sweep Red Sox

The Miami Marlins edged the Boston Red Sox 2-0 at Fenway Park on Thursday night. The Marlins swept a three-game series against the BoSox for the first time in franchise history. The Fish had not won a game in Fenway Park since 2009 until this week.
It is the first time that the Marlins are 14 games over .500 since they were 91-71 at end of the 2003 regular season. The Fish won the World Series later that year.
There was no scoring by either club in the first seven innings of the contest. Miami(48-34) broke up a no-hitter of Boston(40-42) starting pitcher Brayan Bello at the start of the top of the eighth. Jean Segura beat out an infield single up the middle. After Bello was pulled, Jon Berti knocked in Segura with a base hit into center field for a 1-0 lead.
The Red Sox gave up one more run during the ninth inning. Jazz Chisholm Jr. hammered a solo home run to center field on a 2-0 pitch for his ninth homer of the season.
