Marlins Rob Mariners

The Miami Marlins knocked down the Seattle Mariners 4-1 on Wednesday night at T-Mobile Park. The Marlins avoided a three-game series sweep by the Mariners. The Marlins next head for Washington D.C. on their nine-game road swing and face the Nationals on Friday night.
Miami(39-31) had a 1-0 lead in the top of the third. Jonathan Davis was able to score on wild pitch by Mariners starting pitcher Luis Castillo.
The Fish added another run in the seventh inning and were up 2-0. Jorge Soler blasted a solo homer to right-center field on a 1-1 pitch for his 20th home run of the season.
The Marlins added two more runs in the top of the eighth for a 4-0 lead. Nick Fortes doubled into the right-field corner to score Jesus Sanchez. Davis came up next and drove in Jean Segura on a sacrifice fly to center field.
Seattle(33-34) broke the shutout in the bottom of the ninth. With the bases loaded, Eugenio Suarez hit a ball that was caught by Sanchez as he reached over the wall in right field to prevent a tie game. Ty France scored on the sacrifice fly to make it 4-1.
