Marlins Duck Blue Jays

The Miami Marlins pounded the Toronto Blue Jays 11-0 at loanDepot park on Monday night. It was the beginning of a seven-game homestand for the Marlins, who have won five straight games. Luis Arraez went 5-for-5 and raised his batting average up to .400 for the year.
Miami(42-31) jumped to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third. Jorge Soler smashed a two-homer to left-center field on a 2-0 pitch with Arraez aboard. It was the 21st home run for Soler this season. He is now third place in the majors behind Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels and Pete Alonso of the New York Mets. Three batters later, Garrett Cooper knocked in Jesus Sanchez on a base hit into left field.
The Marlins loaded the bases twice and increased it to 5-0 in the fourth inning. Soler hit a sacrifice fly to left field and Jacob Stallings reached home. Two batters later, Sanchez followed and grounded out to first and Jonathan Davis crossed the plate.
Toronto(39-35) surrendered five more runs in the bottom of the seventh and were down 10-0. Bryan De La Cruz capped the frame as he drove in Stallings with a single up the middle.
