Marlins Jumped By Mariners

The Miami Marlins visited the Seattle Mariners and lost 8-1 at T-Mobile Park on Monday night. It will be the Marlins only appearance for a three-game series in the Pacific Northwest during the next two seasons.
Seattle(32-33) rocketed out to a big 6-0 lead early in the contest. The Mariners scored four runs in the first inning and two runs in the second inning. It was capped by a three-run homer by Ty France to left-center field on a 1-2 count for his sixth home run of the 2023 campaign.
Miami(37-30) made it 6-0 in the top of the fifth. Nick Fortes ripped a solo home run to left field on a 2-1 pitch for his fourth homer of the year. It was the Marlins only hit in the ballgame.
The Mariners responded in the bottom of the fifth to get back a six-run margin. Eugenio Suarez belted a solo homer to right-center field on the first pitch for his seventh home run of the season.
