Cocoa Over Gadsden County For Class 2A Crown

     The Cocoa Tigers took the Gadsden County Jaguars 38-27 in the FHSAA Class 2A state championship contest on Thursday at Pitbull Stadium in Miami. It was one of two championship contests this week that did not involve a local South Florida high school. 
     The Tigers won a state title for the third consecutive year. It turned out to be their seventh overall state championship in school history. 
     Cocoa(11-3) was able to get out to a 14-7 lead by the conclusion of the first quarter. Gadsden County(13-2) picked up a safety in the second quarter and trailed 14-9 at halftime. 
     The Jaguars had their only lead of the contest 15-14 with a touchdown midway in the third quarter, however Cocoa answered back by the end of the third with a field goal and led 17-15. The Tigers held off their opponent outscoring them 21-12 during the final quarter.
