LeBron James And Lakers Lose To Heat

     LeBron James made his annual NBA return to South Florida against his former team as the Miami Heat walloped the Los Angeles Lakers 134-93 at Kaseya Center on Wednesday night. James played with the Heat for four seasons and helped the franchise capture two NBA championships and four Eastern Conference titles. 
     The Heat have won seven of their last nine meetings versus the Lakers since they met in the 2020 NBA Finals. Miami has been victorious in 21 of the past 31 games when they faced Los Angeles in the regular season. 
     Miami tied their fourth largest margin of victory in franchise history. They set a team record with 42 assists in one contest and tied a club record with 24 three-point shots made in a game. 
     James scored the first six points for Los Angeles(12-10) to give them a 6-3 lead at the 9:45 mark of the opening quarter. Miami((10-10) answered back with a 20-3 run for a 23-9 lead with 5:46 left in the first quarter. The Heat would be ahead 34-26 at the end of one quarter. 
     Miami led by more than eight points throughout the entire second quarter and had a 69-52 halftime lead. It was the most points scored by the Heat in the first half this season. 
     The Heat outscored the Lakers 36-20 in the third quarter and had a 105-72 advantage.  It was Miami's highest scoring quarter of the regular season. Tyler Herro placed in 21 points during that frame. 
     Los Angeles played up to the pace of the Heat early in the fourth quarter. Most of the starters from both teams exited the contest with 8:44 left in the game. 
     Bam Adebayo finished with a double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for the Heat. Jimmy Butler was able to contribute 17 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Tyler Herro scored a game-high 31 points while Haywood Highsmith poured in 14 points. 
     James led the Lakers with 29 points, eight assists and five rebounds in 29 minutes. D'Angelo Russell ended up with 12 points. Anthony Davis was held to a season-low eight points and seven rebounds.
