The Miami Heat took a commanding lead in their best-of-seven series with a 88-65 victory over the Chicago Bulls at United Center on Monday night. The Heat now lead this Eastern Conference Semifinal three games to one and can clinch the series on Wednesday night in Miami.
Miami started the game on an 11-2 spurt and led 21-15 after one quarter. The Heat keep the margin above six points for the entire second quarter and were ahead 44-33 at halftime.
Chicago fell further behind as the Heat went on a 15-3 run to end the third quarter and were up 61-42 at the end of the period. The Bulls came no closer than 16 points from the lead as Miami easily held on to the win.
Only two players from the Heat had double-digit scoring. LeBron James got 27 points, eight assists and seven rebounds in 43 minutes. Chris Bosh added 14 points and six rebounds in 35 minutes. Dwyane Wade was held to only six points and four assists in 29 minutes.
The Bulls were led by Carlos Boozer who had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds in 32 minutes of play. Jimmy Butler scored 12 points in 46 minutes while Richard Hamilton came off the bench and knocked down 11 points in 22 minutes.
