Marlins Snap Losing Streak

The Miami Marlins ended their seven-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Marlins Park on Sunday. The Fish had lost 10 of their last 11 games prior to this game.
Miami(12-32) waited until the sixth inning to take the lead against Diamondbacks starting pitcher Wade Miley. Adeiny Hechavarria singled to center field with one out then Derek Dietrich singled to right field following a Placido Polanco fly out. Marcell Ozuna doubled into deep left field as Hechavarria and Dietrich scored.
Arizona(25-19) came up short in the ninth inning with just one run. Didi Gregorius led off and doubled to deep right field against Marlins starter Ricky Nolasco, who was then replaced by Steve Cishek. After Paul Goldschmidt grounded out to second, Gregorius crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly by Jason Kubel. The D-backs were able to load the bases with two out until Mike Dunn got A.J. Pollack to ground out to short.
Nolasco went eight-plus innings, allowed one run on five hits and struck out 11 batters as he moved up to 3-5. Miley fell to 3-3 as he pitched six innings and gave up two runs on five hits.
