The Indiana Pacers evened the Eastern Conference Finals with a 99-92 win over the Miami Heat in game 4 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Tuesday night. The best-of-seven series is tied at two games apiece with game 5 in Miami on Thursday.
Indiana powered through with the first 11 points of the game for a great start. The Heat followed with a 17-5 spurt to take their only lead of the first half. The Pacers led 26-22 after one quarter and remained ahead 48-47 at halftime.
Miami jumped out to a six-point lead 60-54 early in the third quarter, but Indiana finished the period on a 23-10 run to get ahead 77-70. The Pacers nine-point lead was not safe as the Heat put up a 17-7 rally to move ahead 89-86 with 5:13 left in the fourth quarter. Miami only scored a three-point shot by LeBron James the rest of the way as Indiana finished the last five minutes with a 13-3 edge to claim victory.
James, who fouled out in the final minute of the game, had 24 points along with six rebounds and five assists in 43 minutes of play for Miami. Dwyane Wade was in foul trouble throughout the game as he scored 16 points with six assists in 37 minutes. Mario Chalmers contributed 20 points in 29 minutes while Chris Bosh was held to seven points and three rebounds. Reserve Ray Allen added 11 points and seven rebounds.
All five starters for Indiana scored in double digits. Two players had double-doubles as Roy Hibbert got 23 points and 12 rebounds in 40 minutes and David West had 14 points and 12 rebounds in 39 minutes. Lance Stephenson knocked down 20 points in 41 minutes while George Hill compiled 19 points, six assists and five rebounds in 39 minutes. Paul George added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Pacers.
