Marlins Overcome Dodgers

    The Miami Marlins gave up an early lead, but they came back and defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-4 on Friday night at Dodger Stadium. The Marlins victory snapped their three-game losing streak.
    Los Angeles(13-21) jumped on Marlins starting pitcher Jose Fernandez in the first inning. Carl Crawford led off with a single into center field then Nick Punto walked. Adrian Gonzalez followed with three-run homer over the center-field wall on a 0-1 pitch for a Dodgers 3-0 lead.
    Miami(11-25) evened the game up during the fourth inning with three runs. Placido Polanco got a walk and Marcell Ozuna walked two batters later. Derek Dietrich came up and hit his first major league home run against Matt Magill to right field on a 3-2 pitch.
    The Marlins took their first lead against Ronald Belisario in the seventh inning. Rob Brantly began with a base hit to right field then Chris Coghlan ripped a double into deep center field. Brantly would score on a soft single by Juan Pierre to left. Coghlan crossed the plate during an infield double play on Adeiny Hechavarria.
    The Dodgers got one run against Chad Qualls in the eighth inning. Matt Kemp singled to left-center field then stole second. Two batters later, A.J. Ellis knocked him in on a base hit to center field. Ellis was left stranded at third to end the frame.
    Fernandez allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out seven in six innings to raise his record to 2-2 this season. Magill gave up three hits on three runs in five innings. Belisario took the loss as he surrendered two runs on three hits during his one inning of work and dropped to 2-4.
