Defenseman Jason Demers has signed a five-year, $22.5 million contract with the Florida Panthers. He joins a defensive core that includes Aaron Ekblad and Keith Yandle who both signed long-term deals recently with the club.
Demers comes from the Dallas Stars where he had seven goals and 16 assists in 62 games last season. He has been in the NHL for seven seasons and compiled 28 goals and 115 assists in 423 career games.
