The Fort Lauderdale Strikers remained winless in the NASL fall season as they were shut out by the Carolina Railhawks 1-0 at Lockhart Stadium on Saturday night. Fort Lauderdale(0-3-1) now looks toward Wednesday when they travel to face the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer in a quarterfinal for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Carolina(2-1-0) would get the only tally of the game in the first half. Brian Shriver burned his former club with a goal during the 23rd minute.
