Two forwards left the Florida Panthers organization on Friday and went to two different Western Conference teams. Right wing Teddy Purcell signed a one-year contract for $1.6 million with the Los Angeles Kings. He joined the Panthers prior to the trade deadline from the Edmonton Oilers and compiled three goals along with eight assists in 15 games.
The Panthers also saw left wing Quinton Howden leave the team and agreed to a one-year, $650,000 deal with the Winnipeg Jets. He was a first round and 25th overall pick by Florida in the 2010 NHL Draft. Howden played three seasons with the Panthers as he had six goals and five assists in 58 games with the club last season.
