The Fort Lauderdale Strikers began the NASL fall season with a 1-1 tie against Miami FC at Lockhart Stadium on Saturday night. The Strikers had come off an upset of Orlando City SC in the fifth round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup three days ago.
Miami FC(0-0-1) was awarded a penalty kick during the 18th minute and Dario Cvitanich converted it for a 1-0 margin. Fort Lauderdale(0-0-1) waited until the second half to tie the contest as Gale Agbossoumonde scored in the 53rd minute.
