Former Miami Marlins shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria has signed a minor-league deal with the New York Mets. He is expected to compete for a spot on the roster for the Mets during spring training.
Hechavarria spent five seasons with the Marlins. He batted .255 with 13 home runs and 113 runs batted in for the Fish in 599 games.
