The Miami Marlins have signed outfielder Curtis Granderson to a minor-league contract. He spend his time last season with the Toronto Blue Jays and Milwaukee Brewers. He helped the Brewers win the National League Central Division in 2018 as he batted .220 in 19 games.
Granderson began his career with the Detroit Tigers in 2004 and played there for six seasons. He led that franchise to the 2006 American League Championship, their first since 1984, and they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series.
He was traded to the New York Yankees in December 2009. Granderson played with them for four seasons and they made the playoffs three times. He went across town and signed with the New York Mets as a free agent. Granderson helped them win their first National League Championship in 2015 after a 29-year wait. They fell to the Kansas City Royals in the World Series.
Granderson was traded by the Mets to the Los Angeles Dodgers in August 2017. The Dodgers would win their first National League title since 1988. They lost to the Houston Astros in seven games.
