The Miami Marlins traded catcher J.T. Realmuto to the Philadelphia Phillies for catcher Jorge Alfaro, pitcher Sixto Sanchez and pitcher Will Stewart on Thursday.
Realmuto has been with the Miami Marlins since the 2014 season. He had his best season last year as he compiled 21 home runs, 71 runs batted in and a .277 batting average in 125 games. Realmuto represented the Marlins at the 2018 All-Star Game.
Alfaro participated in 108 games for the Phillies last year as he put together 10 home runs, 37 runs batter in and a .262 batting average. He was on their major-league roster since 2016. Sanchez and Stewart have not yet pitched in the majors.
