The Miami Heat traded guards Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington to the Phoenix Suns for forward Ryan Anderson. The team made the deal prior to the NBA trade deadline.
Anderson has played in just 15 games for the Suns this season. It was the only season for him with Phoenix. He averaged 3.7 points and 3.1 rebounds per game with them. Anderson had made previous stints in the NBA with the New Jersey Nets, Orlando Magic, New Orleans Hornets, New Orleans Pelicans and Houston Rockets.
Johnson played his entire five-year NBA career with the Heat. He played in 44 games this season and averaged 10.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assist per game.
Ellington signed as a free agent with Miami prior to the 2016-17 season. His best season with the Heat was last season when he averaged a career-high 11.2 points per game in 77 games. Ellington has only played 25 games this season and averaged 8.4 points along with 1.9 rebounds a game.
