The Miami Heat began a long road trip and easily beat the Portland Trail Blazers 118-108 at Moda Center on Tuesday night. The Heat held and kept the lead from wire-to-wire in the contest.
Miami(25-27) had a 34-30 lead after one quarter and were in front 62-55 at halftime. Portland(32-21) trailed even more 94-79 after three quarters.
Hassan Whiteside led the Heat with a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds. Dwyane Wade had 22 points and Josh Richardson added 18 points. C.J. McCollum put in a game-high 33 points for the Trail Blazers.
