Nuggets Carve Out Heat

     The Miami Heat continued their five-game road swing as they fell to the Denver Nuggets 103-87 on Monday night at Pepsi Center. The Heat have lost three straight games and play in Dallas against the Mavericks on Wednesday prior to the NBA All-Star Game break. The Nuggets remain in second place among the Western Conference. 
     Denver(38-18) rolled out to a 35-27 lead after one quarter and stayed ahead 54-49 by halftime. Miami(25-30) still trailed 83-70 at the end of third quarter and could not cut the deficit down to single digits in the fourth.
     Justice Winslow scored 15 points for the Heat while James Johnson added 14 points. Nikola Jokic compiled a double-double for the Nuggets with a game-high 23 points and 12 rebounds.
