NHL Name Hub Cities

The National Hockey League has named Toronto and Edmonton as their hub cities and are moving forward with the 2019-20 season. The NHL has taken steps to resume the season by August 1. The regular season was stopped on March 12 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The NHL will restart the season with the top 12 teams in each conference based on winning percentage. The Eastern Conference will play in Toronto while the Western Conference will participate in Edmonton. The 2020 Stanley Cup Final will be played in Edmonton.
Qualifying series consisting of conference seeds from fifth to 12th will be played along with round-robin games involving the top four seeds in each conference. The 10th seeded Florida Panthers will challenge the seventh seeded New York Islanders in a best-of-five qualifying series.
