Florida Panthers Announcers Staying Local

     Fox Sports Florida will broadcast the Florida Panthers Stanley Cup Qualifier best-of-five series against the New York Islanders. The broadcasting crew of play-by-play announcer Steve Goldstein and game analyst Randy Moller will announce the contests from the Fox Sports Florida studios in Fort Lauderdale off television monitors.  

     The Panthers radio broadcasts are likely to be announced from the Fox Sports studios in Fort Lauderdale and be heard on flagship station 560 The Joe WQAM-AM along with Fox Sports 640 South Florida WMEN-AM. The broadcasters will be play-by-play announcer Doug Plagens and game analyst Bill Lindsay. 

     The National Hockey League has not stated publicly to Stanley Cup Playoff bound clubs that no local broadcasting crews should be going to the hub cities of Toronto and Edmonton. All 24 teams participating are allowed to bring 51 people each into the hub city bubble setting which will include players, coaches, hockey operations personnel and business operations personnel. 

     The National Basketball Association announced that local team announcers would not be able to broadcast games in person from the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex outside of Orlando earlier this month. Eric Reid, John Crotty, Jason Jackson and their entire broadcasting team will announce Miami Heat games from the Fox Sports Florida studios at American Airlines Arena. 

     Major League Baseball had requested that team broadcasters should not travel with their clubs for road games back in early June. Television announcers Paul Severino and Todd Hollandsworth along with radio voices Dave Van Horne and Glenn Geffner will announce road contests from Marlins Park. They will also call Marlins home games from that stadium for the entire 60-game regular season schedule.
