The Miami Marlins traded pitcher Anibal Sanchez and second baseman Omar Infante to the Detroit Tigers for pitcher Jacob Turner on Monday. Sanchez was 5-7 this season with a 3.94 ERA and 110 strikeouts in 19 games he started. He had been with the Marlins for seven seasons with a record of 44-45 and 676 strikeouts.
Infante was acquired by the Marlins from the Atlanta Braves for second baseman Dan Uggla back in November 2010. He had eight home runs and 33 RBI with a .287 batting average in 85 games this season. Infante returns to Detroit where he played for the Tigers from 2002 until 2007.
Turner had made six starts for the Tigers in the last two seasons. He was 1-1 in three starts this year with the team. Turner picked his first major league win on Sunday against the Chicago White Sox.
