On the first day of free agency in the NHL, the Florida Panthers have resigned goalie Scott Clemmensen to a two-year contract on Sunday. He helped the team win their first division title in franchise history in 2011-12. Last season he shared goaltending duties with Jose Theodore.
Clemmensen, who was an unrestricted free agent entering this summer, joined the Cats in 2009-10 and had previous stops with the New Jersey Devils and Toronto Maple Leafs. He was 14-6-6 in 30 games with a 2.57 goals against average last season.
